1. What if I’m late?
If you are running late your session will be limited by the original end time. Please let us know you are running late so we can prepare to modify your treatment. If you do not show up for your appointment after 20 minutes, you forfeit your deposit or payment and you will have to pre-pay in full to schedule a new appointment. 2. What type of massage do we offer?
Our massage is completely customized; we will discuss your needs that day and create the appropriate massage for you. Our main focus is prevention, self care, stress management, joint mobilization, management of chronic pain for short or long term care, and general relaxation. 3. Do we do pregnancy massage?
Yes, during your first month of pregnancy, your body is adjusting to all the new changes. It is extremely important to let your therapist know if you are on your first trimester of pregnancy. Expecting mom will be propped in a natural sideline position or face down with patent-pending design prenatal body cushion. Recommended 40 or 60 minute sessions.
4. How many rooms do we have?
At this time we have 4 massage rooms.
5. Do we have showers?
Yes we do have a shower which is a service provided to our Therapy room customers.
6. Do we accept insurance?
At this time we are not providers for any insurance offering Massage Therapy, If you have an FSA we can provide you with a receipt for reimbursement.
7. What Is your gratuity policy?
Gratuity is not obligated. Instead of tipping, please take a moment to recommend us to your friends and family, or write a online review about your therapist so others can enjoy the same experience. It would be greatly appreciated by the therapist. If you wish to tip, you may do so by cash or check directly to your therapist.
8. When should I get a massage?
Any time is a good time to get a massage. You don’t need to wait until your injured or experiencing stress. Massage can work as preventive care for your body and mind, receiving massage at least once a month will result in cumulative health benefits for clients but an even greater frequency will be much more effective. Ultimately, the decision of how often you receive massage is based on input from your body, your massage therapist, and in some cases, a doctor.
9. Are there times I should avoid getting a massage?
Yes, any infectious disease, certain types of cancer, such as leukemia or lymphoma, severe cold or flu, fracture, bleeding wound, burns, history of heart condition or blood clots. More Info Please contact us if you have further concerns or questions.
10. Can I workout after my massage?
It’s best to wait 24 hours after your massage before working out. Any fast vigorous movements after massage may strain the muscles. If you absolutely have to work out the same day, wait at least 4 hours after the massage.
11. How often should I schedule a massage?
If you are in acute pain, you should try to come in 1-2 times a month. Regular frequent massages can help you break down the pain cycle, once your pain is less intense you can come in every 3-4 weeks. If you are not in pain and are seeking treatment for overall health and wellness, every 4-6 weeks is appropriate.
12. What payment methods are accepted?
Payment may be made in cash or by credit card (Visa, Master Card, and Discover). Credit card required for appointment reservation, 24 hours before the time of each session. Our facility does not accept personal or cashier checks. Day Dream Therapy shares the office with independent contractors. Payments can be made directly with your therapists.
13. How deep should I get my massage?
The “no pain, no gain” theory does not apply to massage unless you are seeking sports or injury treatment. Again, if the sensation experienced during massage is considered “painful”, it is likely to cause defensive guarding and is not therapeutic and you should alert your therapist immediately. Techniques should be deep enough to feel effective, but not so uncomfortable that pain or bruising result
14. Why don’t we offer a guarantee?
Many use the word Guarantee to draw clients in the door, Your body is your responsibility. “It takes two to tango”. Adequate treatment requires your supporting role 24/7 identifying and removing or modifying behaviors and ergonomics in activities of daily living and at work. Anatomical imbalances, environment, sleep position etc. Partial Identification and partial elimination does not suffice, we do guarantee you will leave happy as long as you communicate with your therapist before, during and after your session to insure we are achieving your goals. With our experience we will recommend a treatment plan and helpful tips on home care to guide you in the right direction. Our team is qualified, educated, and all experienced professionals who know the body well providing you with a safe nurturing environment leaving you relaxed, stress free to start or end your day feeling refreshed. If your massage was not what you expected please let us know as soon as you are experiencing the disappointment, although we welcome it, please do not wait until after your session to address this issue.
15. What is our cancellation/no show policy?
We have a 24 hour per therapist cancellation/no show policy. If we do not receive this notice, then we will charge you in full for the missed appointment. This includes appointments booked with gift certificates. This policy applies to appointments made the same day, as well. If your therapist fails to give you a 24 hour cancellation or rescheduling notice, and another therapist in that department is not available you will receive your next session at no cost. 16. What is your refund policy for gift certificates?
